High-Efficiency washers - Product Spotlight

Nursing Homes, August, 2003

The Aurora[TM]--Continental Girbau's new 20-pound-capacity, soft-mount washer extractor--is similar in size to many top-load washers but offers greater capacity, performance, and efficiency. The Aurora is an Energy Star[R] and Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE)-approved high-efficiency washer-extractor. Energy Star states that qualifying washers use 35 to 50% less water and 50% less energy per load than new nonqualifying models.

The soft-mount design enables the Aurora to reach extract speeds of approximately 300 Gs/1,000 rpm. Higher extract speeds mean more water is removed from a load. As a result, laundry takes less time to dry, which conserves energy, cuts labor, and increases laundry room productivity. The Aurora can be programmed with up to four rinses optional prewash, variable wash temperatures, and automatic soap injection. Final extraction time and speeds are programmable to remove even more water from a load.
