If you've ever been on an interminable airplane flight and longed for a quieter spot, extra leg room or, worse yet, been stuck in a seat that didn't recline, a little planning ahead with this site could help you get one of the choice spots on the plane.

To find the best airline seats, whether you're flying coach, first class or business, simply choose an airline from the navigation bar at the top of the screen and check the drop-down menu for your plane model. Then select your seat by sliding your mouse over the layout on the left. Further down the screen, a colored key alerts you to which are "very good" seats versus ones to "be aware" of as well as those that are just plain bad. For example, the site warns users which seats don't have windows, although they're placed on the edges. The one downside is that this site features only six airlines: American, Continental, Delta, United, Northwestern and US Airways.
