Start here if you're looking for data on kids. This Web site gives easy access to federal and state statistics and reports on children and their families, including population and family characteristics, and economic security. Recently posted on the site is America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, the annual federal monitoring report on the status of the nation's children. The report presents a comprehensive look at various

aspects of child well-being, such as family structure, health, social environment, and education. It also notes significant trends, such as the rise in preschool enrollment, and points to problems facing kids today. Roughly 12 percent of children have difficulty performing everyday activities, and most of that group have a learning disability or a limitation in their ability to communicate.
