indicators; White Sale - Brief Article

American Demographics, August, 2000 by John Fetto

Watch out America! Consumers of major appliances are getting a little crazy. According to market research firm NPD Intelect, consumers of "white goods" (washers, dryers, refrigerators, and dishwashers) are increasingly choosing more colorful options. OK, maybe "colorful" isn't the most appropriate word, but they are, uh, less white.

For instance, the second most popular color (after white) for a new model refrigerator sold in April was - are you ready? - almond, followed by black, bisque, and stainless steel. No word yet on where avocado green falls on that list!
