What could be worse than - gasp! - a visible panty line? Not much. According to a June survey of 300 men and women conducted by Raleigh, N.C.-based advertising agency Howard, Merrell & Partners, visible panty lines bother 84 percent of women. But there's no need for anyone to get their panties in a bunch: An estimated 39 percent of men actually enjoy seeing those panty lines.

Still, as an alternative, women can always "go commando" (a term used to describe forgoing underwear, made popular by the TV show Friends). An estimated 2 percent of women and 1 percent of men surveyed say they don't bother wearing underwear at all.
