IIA Elections, Awards Announced - Brief Article

JACQUELINE K. Wagner, general auditor at General Motors Corporation in Detroit, was elected chairman of the board at The IIA's 59th International Conference in New York. Other elected officers include David A. Richards, senior vice chairman; Nora J. Masters, vice chairman, professional development; Larry E. Rittenberg, vice chairman, professional practices; Bob N. McDonald, vice chairman, professional services; LeRoy E. Bookal, vice chairman, research; Gianni Grossi, international secretary; and Basil R. Woller, international treasurer.

Awards were also presented for volunteer service and achievement: Anthony J. Ridley earned the Victor Z. Brink Distinguished Service Award, and William L. Taylor received the Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award. Albert J. Marcella Jr. was named Leon R Raddle Educator of the Year, and Exceptional Volunteer Citations went to Aaron C. Saylors and Cecil V. Brown Jr.

The IIA presented a number of awards to recognize outstanding contributions to Internal Auditor. David McNamee and Georges Selim received the coveted John B. Thurston Award for Literary Excellence for "The Next Step in Risk Management." Other winners included the Mount Diablo Chapter for top "Roundtable" story: "Money Order Recoup."
