Benefit spotlight

Communication World, Jan-Feb, 2005

IABC's MemberSearch enables you to connect with your fellow communicators throughout the world. The online directory of members is available at www.iabc.com/membersearch.> Bob Crawshaw, who owns Main Street Marketing, a specialist communication consultancy in Australia's national capital, Canberra, has found multiple uses for the service. "I use MemberSearch to contact people working in the same area to share ideas and seek help. For a small company, it is simply invaluable to be able to contact people doing similar things in Africa, Europe, Asia or North America," he says.

In the past 14 months, Crawshaw has used MemberSearch to explore two business opportunities in Toronto, and while visiting the U.S. over the Christmas holidays, he was able to meet with two IABC members in Maine to further collaborate on ideas initially shared online.

"We are starting an IABC chapter in Canberra, so I tell prospective members that MemberSearch is a key reason they should consider joining IABC."
