We recently handled media relations for the Second Malaysia-China Economic Conference, which involved the prime minister and many other VVIPs from Malaysia and China. Before the start of the first session, we had received a message from the prime minister's office that media were only to receive a copy of the PM's keynote address after the session had ended. About five minutes into his speech I saw a man approach the media and start to hand documents to them. I went over to him and whispered that he should not be handing out the speech yet and explained that this was an instruction from the PM's office. He smiled and whispered back, "I'm the PM's PA ...(!)" During the break, he thanked me for being so "vigilant."
