Agilent CEO named 2003 Excel award winner

Communication World, June-July, 2003

Edward W. (Ned) Barnholt, chairman, president and CEO of Agilent Technologies, is the recipient of the 2003 Excellence in Communication Leadership (EXCEL) award.

Since successfully guiding Agilent through its spin-off from Hewlett-Packard Co. in 1999, Barnholt has led the creation of a global corporate culture widely recognized as best in its class. Under Barnholt's leadership, Agilent was ranked 33 on Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For, a ranking that was accompanied by an article titled "How to Cut Pay, Lay Off 8,000 People, and Still Have Workers Who Love You."

The EXCEL award is presented to business leaders--frequently CEOs--who support, encourage and practice exemplary communication and whose organizations reflect that philosophy and standard in their communication work.
