Hurd named 2005 EXCEL Award winner
Communication World, July-August, 2005
IABC has named Mark Hurd, president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co. and former president and CEO of NCR Corp., as the recipient of its 2005 Excellence in Communication Leadership (EXCEL) Award.
The EXCEL Award--the highest award given by IABC to a non-member--recognizes individuals who exhibit strong leadership in fostering communication and who contribute to the development and support of organizational communication.
Hurd spent 25 years at NCR, culminating in his two-year tenure as CEO and president. He was named president and CEO of HP on 29 March. At press time, he was scheduled to accept his award and deliver a keynote address at IABC's 2005 International Conference in Washington, D.C.
