Working on Their M.B.A.s

UNext.com, Pensare, FT Knowledge, and Quisic are working on their M.B.A.s. Their online M.B.A. offerings, that is.

These companies will be providing either their own M.B.A. program (UNext) or partnering (Pensare, FT Knowledge, and Quisic) with prestigious schools to reach global learners with master's degree programs. UNext, which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council, will provide online M.B.A. courses derived from such business schools as Stanford, Columbia, and the London School of Economics--under the Cardean University brand, though. M.B.A. accreditation for the Pensare, FT Knowledge, and Quisic partnerships are linked directly to the respective business schools that award the credits.

Several recent partnerships between technology providers and business schools include

* The University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School is partnering with Quisic to launch an online M.B.A. that targets the executive market with its part-time schedule.

* The University of Cambridge's Judge Institute of Management has joined forces with FT Knowledge to launch an online executive M.B.A. in the fall of 2001.

* Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Pensare have launched a 20-month Cross Continent M.B.A. that combines online executive learning with face-to-face sessions at Frankfurt and Durham, North Carolina.
