Here's a look at some companies that are rolling out new products and services that can help you go mobile:

* Ericsson's R380 "smartphone" is part personal organizer, electronic notepad, email, and WAP (wireless application protocol) device. It's compatible with Outlook, Lotus Notes, Windows, and Organizer. More info: ericsson.com.

* Handspring's new VisorPhone module snaps into any Visor PDA to transform it to a mobile phone. An ISP and third-party software are required for Internet access. More info: handspring.com/products/visorphone.

* IBT Technologies is working on an open-architecture Adaptive Learning Network that will help prepare learning content for mobile devices. More info: ibttechnologies.com/products.htm.

* Nokia's 9210 Communicator enables mobile emailing, word processing, faxing, Web surfing, and organizing. It's compatible with Windows and Lotus applications. More info: nokia.com/phones/9210.

* Palm recently launched the MyPalm portal that extends Palm handheld connectivity with such features as personal email account links, wireless Net searches and downloads, and Web-based group scheduling. More info: palm.net.
