The Working Life: The Promise and Betrayal of Modern Work
Training & Development, April, 2001 by Wendy Mack
Ciulla claims in her introduction that she hopes to "give readers a place to stand so that they can examine their own ideas and expectations about work and the choices they have made about work and life." The Working Life is informative and often interesting, yet despite its provocative subtitle, The Promise and Betrayal of Modern Work, it provides neither a solution to the plight of the unhappy worker nor the inspiration to seek a solution.
