Ta Da! - Editorial
Training & Development, May, 2001
So, how do you like it? The new T D! OK, maybe we should at least let you get past page 10 before we ask...we're waiting...dum de dum...so, how do you like it? Seriously, do give us some feedback: Just email us at mail box(c)astd.org. We based a lot of our redesign decisions on your input from reader surveys, and the goal was to make it easy for you to more quickly access and ingest the information you want and need.
And now the truth can be told: Last month, we promised we'd reveal who writes the Front Page, always previously signed The Editors. Yes, it was I--is I--the editor of T D magazine. It wasn't as if we were trying to shield anyone (well, me) from taking responsibility for the words appearing here (Hey, if they don't know who writes this, they can't find her to complain). We swear it wasn't like that. We just felt that I more or less represented the general perspectives and personas of the T D editors, which everyone now realizes and agrees (and insists) is preposterous.
I'd (notice how now that my identity is known, it's all about me) also like to draw your attention to our third annual Training's New Guard--profiles of pathfinders cutting across the field. Pam Leigh interviewed these movers to find out what makes them shake. This issue also features an important study of global leadership competencies, by Patricia Digh and Robert Rosen, a Fortune "Best Business Book" author.
Frequent T D contributor Shari Caudron tells of her trip to China, a tortuous massage, and the lessons she learned that trainers might appreciate. Richard Chang shows how we can have passion in our work.
So, how do you like it? And now that we've been introduced, please don't be a stranger.
