Training & Development, Sept, 2000 by Haidee E. Allerton

V-Span, a broadband communications portal for business, has announced the receipt of $28 million in equity financing from a consortium of investors led by Goldman Sachs. Additional investors are Comcast Interactive Capital, MF Private Capital, J. & W. Seligman & Co., Boston Millennia Partners, Harron Capital, BETC, and Edison Ventures.

V-SPAN will use the financing in an aim to enable users to interact globally without concern for the underlying infrastructure and capabilities. The firm says it sees "virtual video communications as the predominant application for today's fast-moving organizations."
