"We're very passionate about animal welfare, so it is a great honor to be recognized for our efforts," said Todd Feit, The Laptop Guy founder and CEO. One element of The Laptop Guy's support for animal welfare is to produce "Zoe's Friends," a television segment on NBC4; which showcases dogs in need of adoption at the Shelter. The inspiration for these segments is The Laptop Guy's "mascot," Zoe, who was rescued from a dog shelter by Feit.
Each Zoe's Friends requires Laptop Guy associates to give their time to assist with script writing, production and editing. "The Zoe's Friends project is a favorite because it involves utilizing our team's creative skills in Web design and video editing," said Feit. "It is gratifying to see the professionalism of a Zoe's Friends segment, knowing it was produced by a team of people who normally repair laptops."
Additional efforts to give back to animals-in-need include volunteering at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and adoption from shelters through marketing efforts. The Laptop Guy has also donated laptops and accessories to the Cruelty Department of the Capital Area Humane Society and the Columbus Dog Connection. And at last year's WoofStock, a major fundraiser for the Columbus Dog Connection, Feit and Zoe appeared as Masters of Ceremony.
