Premiering on July 8, 2008, the first-ever webisode of the "Knock Out the Fat With George" Web show will kick-off an effort to help viewers everywhere learn how to lose big. The real-life husband and wife hosts, fitness and nutrition experts Michael Feigin and Lawson Harris, will guide viewers as they follow four contestants on a six-month weight-loss journey. The online show is designed to entertain, motivate and educate viewers through friendly competition, delicious recipes and innovative, healthier cooking methods from the George Foreman brand. The series premiere of the George Foreman Web show can be viewed at http://www.knockoutthefat.com/.

"With obesity rates in the United States continuing to soar, it is our hope that through watching these fearless contenders in the 'Knock Out the Fat with George' Web show the online audience will be active contenders at home trying the recipes, grilling tips and taking advantage of the advice from our hosts to eat healthier," said Evanghela Hidalgo, president and general manager for Applica. "George Foreman appliances provide a healthy and convenient way to prepare foods that, traditionally prepared, can be full of fat and calories. The show brings to life the power of George Foreman products, such as the new G-BROIL Grill, and demonstrates unique and innovative ways to integrate the grills into your life."

The monthly Web show will consist of host and expert commentary, home footage, online blogs and video diaries of the contenders' experiences. Viewers can interact with contenders by commenting on their blog postings, rating and uploading recipes, and submitting videos that share their own grilling tips and healthy eating and dieting advice.

Meet the Contenders

The four contenders are eager to make healthful changes in their lifestyle.

-- Caprice Corona, 33, 275 pounds, is an opera singer and stay-at-home mom in New York, NY ready to get back to her pre-pregnancy weight for auditions.

- Troy Goodwin, 22, 259 pounds, is a paralegal in Boston, MA, who also helps promote the Boston Celtics basketball team as part of the Green Team. Goodwin is looking to lose the weight he has put on since his knee-injury playing Division II basketball with Southern New Hampshire University.

-- Derek Walker, 40, 266 pounds, is a flight attendant and former entertainer living in New Jersey. Walker would like to lose 50 pounds to feel healthier.

-- Yannick Yasmine, 28,195 pounds, is a residence hall director and adjunct professor for William Patterson University in Wayne, NJ. Yasmine is aspiring to reach her goal weight in time for her 10-year high school reunion.

"As big fans of the George Foreman grills, we use ours all the time to eat delicious, healthier food," said 'Knock Out the Fat With George' Web show host Michael Feigin. "The four contenders are taking a big step and committing to a more healthful lifestyle. They are going to need help from us as hosts, the viewers at home and the grills to reach their goals."

Lose Big, Win Big

At-home viewers will be asked to choose their favorite contender and support him/her by uploading their own videos with exercise techniques, recipes using George Foreman Grills or their best inspirational advice to motivate and encourage their chosen contender. Each month, a new video winner will be announced based on their submission and awarded their share of $50,000 in prizes.

Episodes of the 'Knock Out the Fat With George' Web show are scheduled to air monthly at http://www.knockoutthefat.com/ through December.

Introduced in 1994, the George Foreman Grills continue to be innovative kitchen appliances knocking out more fat (up to four times more) than competitor grills and developing new grills with new features from grill-plate size, to removable/dishwasher safe plates to interchangeable plates allowing grillers to cook eggs, paninis, vegetables, waffles, pizzas or whatever they can imagine grilling.
