QinetiQ North America Business Unit Completes Formal CMMI Appraisal

CMMI appraisal results demonstrate commitment to process improvement

RESTON, Va., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Solutions business unit of QinetiQ North America's Mission Solutions Group has successfully completed a Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI, Class A) that demonstrates its commitment to process improvement and reaffirms its ability to perform government-contracted software projects.

The assessment was carried out under the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) program that benchmarks the software engineering capabilities of government contractors to safeguard and improve software-intensive government systems.

Federal Solutions completed a Class A "SCAMPI" (Standard CMMI(R) Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) appraisal that encompassed 78 percent of the unit's personnel and 71 percent of its projects. It was rated at CMMI v1.2 Maturity Level 3, demonstrating defined and documented processes that are subject to an improvement program and Capability Level 4 for Verification, demonstrating processes that are measured, managed and effectively controlled.

The wide-ranging appraisal included not only program management, software development and quality control, but also support organizations for project control, process improvement and quality assurance.
