Invest in America Week Highlights Two Nevada Foreign Direct Investment Companies

LAS VEGAS, May 1 /PRNewswire/ --

  WHO:    A representative from the United States Department of Commerce,
          representatives from the Nevada Congressional delegation, state
          officials and foreign dignitaries.

  WHAT:   Will participate in Invest in America events along with 16 other
          states nationwide.  Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in the United
          States:

          -- Create new jobs
          -- Boost wages
          -- Increase U.S. exports
          -- Strengthen U.S. manufacturing
          -- Bring in new research, technology & skills
          -- Contribute to rising U.S. productivity


  WHERE:  In Southern Nevada at JCM Global Corporation, 925 Pilot Rd, Las
          Vegas.

          In Northern Nevada at Taiyo (pronounced Tie-yo) America, 2675
          Antler Drive in Carson City.

  WHEN:   The Southern Nevada event will begin May 5 at 9 a.m. and will
          include a visit from the Consul General of Japan, Yasumasa
          Nagamine (pronounced Yaw-sue-maw-saw Naw-gaw-mee-nay).

          The Northern Nevada event will begin at 3 p.m.

  WHY:    To celebrate foreign investments in America. According to the
          Nevada Commission on Economic Development, Foreign Direct
          Investments in the Silver State in property, plant and equipment
          tops $7.23 billion. FDI provides jobs for 30,000 Nevadans.  Japan
          has the highest number of individual foreign-owned companies
          operating in Nevada. Other countries  providing jobs for Nevadans
          in the Silver State are Canada, the United Kingdom and France.

  HOW:    The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are
          required. Space is limited at each venue.  Call the NCED at
