Mr. Damirji advises business clients on their most significant legal affairs, including banking and securities law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, insurance law, litigation, oil and gas law, and many other types of matters.
His knowledge of business law is truly global -- while he has spearheaded transactions throughout the world, he has also served as counsel to firms in Iraq, Jordan, the UK, Turkey, and the United States. Most recently, he was founder and managing partner of The New Iraq Law Firm, which he formed following the removal of Saddam Hussein's regime. Previously, Mr. Damirji handled corporate issues (specifically involving U.S. capital markets) while at the world's largest law firm. He also worked at one of the leading global financial management and advisory companies as member of a legal team advising the equity capital markets group on all aspects of equity offerings.
Mr. Damirji has appeared as an expert in several media outlets including CNN and Al Jazeera. He is fluent in English, Arabic, French, and German, and earned his B.A. from Oxford University before graduating from Harvard Law School with an LL.M. degree.
