* Sam J. Butler has been appointed president of First Interstate Bank of Farmington. Butler has been associated with First Interstate since 1985, serving as executive vice president and as a member of the board of directors. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, the American Graduate School of International Management and the Pacific Coast Banking School.
