MegaPath, a provider of managed IP voice, data and security services in North America, announced that Arby's Restaurant Group has selected MegaPath to deliver high-speed DSL and T1 Internet access to its headquarters and its company-owned restaurants.

With a comprehensive national broadband footprint, MegaPath noted, it is providing Arby's with PCI-compliant data communications services to support its critical in-store systems, including point-of-sale (POS) and transaction processing.

"We needed a standardized and reliable solution for connecting all of our corporate locations, and MegaPath's fully managed broadband access delivered the greatest value," said David Lipscomb, Senior Director of Infrastructure at Arby's. "In addition to offering the most comprehensive national broadband footprint, MegaPath also ensures that Internet access is PCI compliant. Moving forward, our franchisees have the opportunity to purchase and implement MegaPath's leading Managed Broadband, Managed Security and Site-to-Site MPLS VPN services."

As part of the company's fully managed service offerings, MegaPath is providing Arby's with professional installation of all WAN and LAN equipment required to ensure connectivity for its POS systems and other enterprise applications. In addition, MegaPath's web-based Customer Portal for online order and network management provides Arby's with access to a suite of tools and online reports that provide complete visibility over its MegaPath Managed Broadband services. The portal allows Arby's to manage access across company-owned locations, supervise issue resolution and evaluate performance. In addition to the portal, MegaPath delivers 24x7x365 proactive monitoring and support from its redundant network operation centers.

"With more than 1,000 company-owned locations across North America, Arby's faced a significant challenge in implementing standardized PCI-compliant access throughout its restaurants," said James Cragg, President and COO of MegaPath. "Offering the most comprehensive national footprint, MegaPath was able to easily and cost-effectively implement a uniform WAN that enables Arby's to conduct credit transactions, support other critical applications and increase store productivity."
