ENERGY RESOURCE-11 October 2006-Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority Awards Grant to HydroGen Corp. for Planned Fuel Cell System(C)2006 JeraOne - http://www.jeraone.com
The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) recently granted HydroGen Corporation $250,000 to support the application of a planned two-megawatt fuel cell system.
HydroGen, a designer and manufacturer of multi-megawatt air-cooled phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) systems, will be working in cooperation with U.S. Steel's Mon Valley Works to develop the project, which would utilize surplus hydrogen-rich gas, a by-product fuel from the steel making process.

The PEDA award to HydroGen Corp. is one of 16 clean energy projects in which the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is investing a total of $6.4 million. The 16 projects will receive grants for a variety of clean fuels and green power projects using sources such as solar, fuel cells, biofuels, landfill gas, wind and biomass.
HydroGen utilizes fuel cell technology originally developed by Westinghouse Corporation to offer a multi-megawatt, zero-emission power generation product that supports the growth of industrial distributed energy. The company targets market applications where hydrogen is currently available and other drivers favoring the adoption of fuel cells are present.
