ENERGY RESOURCE-10 September 2007-Polycom Is Emerald Sponsor for Upcoming Green Technology World Conference(C)2007 JeraOne - http://www.jeraone.com

Polycom Inc., a unified collaborative communications (UCC) provider, today announced Emerald sponsorship of the Green Technology World Conference Sept. 11-12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, as part of IT Expo

In three conference presentations, including a conference keynote on Sept. 12, Polycom will highlight how collaboration technologies such as telepresence and video conferencing have an immediate and dramatic impact on corporate green initiatives through reductions in business travel and the use of more energy-efficient solutions.

Polycom will also demonstrate how these environmental benefits correspond with tangible and positive business value such as improved organizational productivity, efficiency and global competitiveness.

"Many factors comprise a corporate green initiative. Some are quick and relatively easy to realize, while others are more complex and take more time and commitment to implement," said Joan Vandermate, vice president of marketing, Video Solutions Group, Polycom.

"Collaboration technologies like video conferencing and telepresence allow organizations to have an immediate and dramatic impact by reducing business-related travel and associated carbon emissions, and can be cost-justified through hard dollar savings associated with the travel reductions," said Vandermate. "At the same time, companies enable employees to work more productively across distances and time zones, improving collaboration and accelerating decision making with their co-workers, partners and customers, and providing much needed work-life balance for road warriors."
