ENERGY RESOURCE-7 February 2008-Progress Energy Taps Monitoring System from InStep Software(C)2008 JeraOne - http://www.jeraone.com

InStep Software, a provider of real-time software systems and solutions, today announced that Progress Energy has implemented its PRiSM software to support Progress Energy's Centralized Performance Monitoring initiative.

InStep's PRiSM technology monitors Progress Energy's entire fleet of fossil assets to provide advanced early warning notification of potential equipment problems or failure. Using advanced cluster-based reasoning, PRiSM identifies process variations that would be virtually impossible to detect otherwise.

"Progress Energy is recognized in the utility industry as a leader in reliably operating their fleet of power plants. We are very pleased to have such a key role in supporting this initiative," said InStep Software President John Kalanik.
