Cathy Taylor, DrPH, MSN, RN

Tennessee Nurse, Winter, 2006

Cathy Taylor, DrPH, MSN, RN, is one of five individuals appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen to the Tennessee Center for Diabetes Prevention and Health Improvement Board of Trustees. The Center for Diabetes Prevention and Health Improvement is the result of a collaboration between the Tennessee General Assembly and the Governor's Office--as part of the Cover Tennessee initiative--to combat the growing problem of Type 2 diabetes in Tennessee and to improve the overall health of Tennesseans.

The legislation to create the Center also created the seven-member board of trustees to oversee it. Taylor's term on the Board will end September 30, 2008. Taylor, of Nashville, is an assistant professor of nursing at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
