Long Appointed Deputy General Counsel of the Bank Board

Charles Thomas Long has been appointed as deputy general counsel of the Bank Board for policy and corporate structure, according to an announcement last month by Norman H. Raiden, the Bank Board's general counsel. The appointment was effective January 1, 1984.

In his position, Mr. Long will be responsible for the management and supervision of the securities and corporate analysis, corporate and regulatory structure, and policy and projects divisions.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Long was a partner in the Washington, DC, law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he specialized in corporate and securities law, particularly with respect to the reorganization of financial institutions.

Mr. Long earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, after which he served in the US Navy. Following his naval service, he earned the juris doctor degree, cum laude, from Harvard University.
