NetScaler Partners With Oracle to Support Oracle Application and Database Environments
Market Wire, July, 2004
NetScaler, Inc., a pioneer in application delivery systems, and partner in the Oracle® PartnerNetwork, today announced that its 9000 Series application delivery systems are now validated on the Oracle 10g platform, including Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Server 10g. With the validation, NetScaler configurations can work with Oracle as core Layer 4-7 switching and SSL acceleration components -- with unique NetScaler AppCompress(TM) and AppCache(TM) capabilities -- to optimize, secure and protect Oracle database and application environments.
NetScaler has made enhancements to its 9000 Series which offer significant new benefits in Oracle environments by providing a unified solution that accelerates and optimizes the delivery of e-business applications. Oracle customers deploying NetScaler products will not only benefit from the faster delivery of key business data and applications, but they will also be assured that NetScaler has tested the solution for seamless operation.
NetScaler's testing validates the NetScaler 9000 Series as a unified solution that works transparently within the Oracle 10g platform, making NetScaler an excellent choice for network simplification, optimized performance and cost reduction. The 9000 Series combines Layer 4-7 switching for high availability and control, AppCompress on-the-fly compression for reduced bandwidth costs, AppCache for maximized caching of dynamic application data, and robust attack protection to prevent distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks from burdening servers. Through AppCompress, the 9000 Series also provides unique compression benefits and cost reductions for previously non-compressible Oracle applications that communicate using the J-initiator plug-in.
"The NetScaler 9000 Series is ideally suited for the Oracle environment," states Raj Kanaya, vice president of product strategy and alliances, NetScaler. "For example, NetScaler 9000 Series systems have been shown to improve response times of remotely accessed Oracle E-Business Suite applications by up to 52 percent."
NetScaler 9000 Series application delivery systems provide industry-leading optimization, Layer 4-7 switching, application security, and SSL VPN capabilities to ensure that e-business applications running in Oracle environments are continuously available, performing optimally, and protected from application-layer attacks.
