Market Wire, September, 2004
Liquid Machines today announced that Michael Ruffolo, former chief operating officer at Akamai, has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Liquid Machines. With senior leadership experience in the high-technology industry at companies including EMC, Xerox and NCR, Ruffolo joins Liquid Machines as it capitalizes on the significant growth opportunity for its enterprise rights management (ERM) solution.
"Liquid Machines is well positioned to lead the enterprise rights management market," stated Mike Ruffolo, president and CEO of Liquid Machines, Inc. "With superior ease-of-use capabilities, Liquid Machines turns security into a business enabler, allowing customers to freely collaborate with partners and suppliers. I'm looking forward to working with the company's experienced management team as we take Liquid Machines to the next level."
Ruffolo's career spans more than 20 years of experience in global sales and marketing management, professional services, operations and information technology. As the COO of Akamai, he successfully refocused the company on the enterprise and government markets, driving double-digit revenue growth while dramatically improving operating results. "We're very excited to welcome one of the industry's most experienced technology executives to the helm," said Jim Schoonmaker, co-founder and board member of Liquid Machines. "Mike's appointment enables us to leverage our early successes and drive profitable revenue growth in the enterprise rights management market."
