PCS Edventures! Announces Rutgers University/LEAP GEAR UP Program Expansion
Market Wire, September, 2004
PCS Edventures! (OTC BB: PCSV) today announced the expansion of its year-old alliance with the Rutgers University/LEAP GEAR UP Pre-College Initiative. Last year, Rutgers installed the PCS Edventures! Academy of Engineering and the PCS Edventures! Academy of Robotics programs for students in grades 5-12. The State University of New Jersey, Rutgers-Camden, is the lead applicant of the LEAP GEAR UP Project. It is creating a unique, holistic and comprehensive course of study for a cadre of middle school and high school students. The overarching goal for this initiative is to raise the number of students in Camden who successfully pursue a college education.
Carmen Rivera, program director at Leap University, said, "The PCS Engineering and Robotics program has been so successful and well accepted by staff and students that we are expanding it this year to accommodate the high demand and to also capitalize on the positive impact it is making. The PCS approach to hands-on learning naturally embeds career skills, logic, mathematics, science, problem solving, communications, and a number of other topics. Perhaps most important of all, this program inspires and motivates students to get excited about learning, a critical component to getting them on a solid track towards continuing their education beyond high school."
"PCS is very pleased that our curriculum and programs are being so well received by Rutgers, an internationally known research and teaching university. We continue to be excited about the success of our programs in the GEAR UP funded projects like this one and see this as a strong vote of confidence for us in this multimillion-dollar market segment," said Bill Albert, National Sales Manager for PCS Edventures!.
About the Rutgers/LEAP GEAR UP Program

LEAP GEAR UP is a school-wide effort of the teachers, parents, students, staff and community partners at LEAP Academy to achieve academic excellence. It includes a curriculum-wide initiative to assure that LEAP students graduate from high school with the preparation, desire and ability to succeed in college. Rutgers/LEAP GEAR UP encourages and facilitates children's participation in mentor relationships, internships, career-oriented part-time employment, and undergraduate study.
