New accounting regulations, like Sarbanes-Oxley, and sophisticated hacker attacks have increased the importance of network security. Implementing a forced password rotation program today often results in user resentment and productivity loss, compromised security, and significant incremental help desk costs. UPEK provides the only end-to-end embedded biometric fingerprint solutions for notebook computers to tie notebook and network security to an individual's unique fingerprint. Users have easy yet highly secure network access while IS departments are able to implement sophisticated, cost-effective, password management programs. UPEK's security protection and file encryption features help prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data, contributing to reduced data and computer hardware theft.
