DataPower First Web Service Security Vendor to Undergo Common Criteria "EAL4 Assurance Level" Evaluation

The U.S. Government is one of fifteen countries that recognize the Common Criteria as the official, unbiased third-party evaluation criteria for IT security procedures. In evaluation with SAIC Labs since earlier this year, DataPower's XS40 becomes the first XML Web services Security Gateway to undergo compliance tests for these global requirements for security as set by Common Criteria. This EAL4 Common Criteria evaluation is the latest in DataPower's history of providing purpose-built and tested security that has enabled DataPower to become the most widely deployed and the security solution of choice for Global 1000 firms and government agencies. To ensure its readiness for real-world deployments, before shipping the XS40 two years ago, DataPower was the only XML security vendor to undergo third-party vulnerability testing.
