Market Wire, November, 2004
Entretec (www.pasadenaentretec.com), a leading business development and networking organization helping technology companies grow along the 134/210 corridor, today called for applicants for their Second Annual Entrepreneurship Award 2005. The award celebrates the entrepreneurial vigor and business achievements of research-driven companies in the region. Evolution Robotics (www.evolution.com), an Idealab! company that develops personal robotics, won the first Entrepreneurship award in May 2004.
The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Award is to honor growing, leading-edge companies symbolizing the best in entrepreneurial spirit and skills in the region. It also acknowledges the growing importance of the technology industry in the 134/210 corridor and its contribution to the economic wealth of the Los Angeles basin.
"Entretec was thrilled with the number and caliber of participants who applied for our inaugural entrepreneurship award last year," said Stephanie Yanchinski, executive director of Entretec. "We expect this year's applicants to be just as impressive and are proud to expose significant technology companies that are contributing to the economy in our region, and Los Angeles as a whole."
Companies can self nominate or be proposed by a third party or organization. Applicants must demonstrate a record of overcoming obstacles, achieving milestones and showing a healthy outlook, with steady growth and promising prospects. Finalists will most likely:
-- be a technology company, owning and developing proprietary technology
-- be in business 2-5 years
-- have significant customer orders and early revenue
-- be located along the 134/210 corridor from Glendale to Diamond Bar
including La Crescenta/La Canada
-- be operating in a technology sector such as aerospace and defense;
life sciences; IT and software; and clean energy and the environment
Applications can be obtained from the Entretec website at www.pasadenaentretec.com. Completed applications must be emailed to Stephanie Yanchinski at scy@pasadenaentretec.com, or faxed to 626/365-7515 by January 31, 2005. A panel of judges will select finalists in February 2005, with a winner being announced at the Entrepreneurship Awards dinner in March 2005. For more information, call Entretec at 626/356-9933.
