U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and TV Worldwide to Produce Live Webcast -- "Breaking Down Barriers to Health Care for Women With Disabilities," Dec. 6, 9AM ET at www.HHS.gov/od
Market Wire, December, 2004
TVWorldwide.com, a fast-growing web-based global TV network, announced that it had been selected to work with the Office on Disability and the Office on Women's Health at the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Interagency Committee on Disability Research at the U.S. Department of Education to produce a live webcast of a national summit, "Breaking Down Barriers to Health Care for Women with Disabilities" on December 6, 2004 from 9 AM to 12 noon ET at www.HHS.gov/od. TV Worldwide will also feature the webcast on its Internet TV channel for the community of people with disabilities, AT508.com (www.at508.com).
The goal of the summit webcast is to highlight the many challenges facing women with disabilities in obtaining appropriate healthcare, and to explore ways that health professionals and facilities can overcome these barriers to provide the best possible care. The summit will feature programs and paradigms that have been successful in improving access to care for people with disabilities, including projects that focus on educating health care professionals about these issues.
"As a long-time developer of streaming media content for the community of people with disabilities, we are excited about being selected to produce this webcast on this important subject of interest to women with disabilities," commented Dave Gardy, Chairman and CEO of TV Worldwide. "We applaud HHS and DOE for deploying the latest in streaming media and webcasting technology to foster interactive communication across the country for this important event. With our AT508.com audience tuning in, we expect huge on-line attendance and we are preparing our servers to accommodate everyone who wants to attend this free webcast."
The free webcast of the event will be available live and archived for a full year in Section 508 accessible format at www.HHS.gov/od using the captioned video streaming of TVWorldwide.com's "webcapting(SM)" process. To view the webcast, participants should have the latest version of Real player or Windows Media Player installed prior to the event and should log on at any time prior to 8:30 AM ET on December 6, to test their set up in preparation for the start of the webcast at 9:00 AM ET. Questions can be directed to 703-961-9250, ext 220 before and during the event. Visitors to the webcast will be able to post questions and participate in Q&A via e-mail, providing a fully interactive forum for sharing of information.
