Metavante to Provide Card Processing for Clout to Pilot Visa Mini Cards
Market Wire, December, 2004
Metavante Corporation, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI), today announced that Clout Financial Services, Inc. began piloting Visa mini cards to its customers this month.
Metavante is providing Clout, a client since 2001, with account processing, card personalization and fulfillment services, as well as underwriting, compliance, customer service, collections, handling of disputes, chargebacks and fraud monitoring services.
"Our continuing relationship with Metavante has afforded Clout the ability to provide the latest in card payment innovations, resulting in a more convenient way for our customers to make purchases," said Bernie Pasierb, president and chief executive officer, Clout Financial Services, Inc. "The mini card can be easily attached to a key chain, eliminating the need for consumers to constantly carry wallets, billfolds or purses."
The Clout Visa mini card is an innovative payment tool, about half the size (1 1/2" X 2 1/2") of a regular credit card, and is being offered as a companion to full-sized credit cards. Clout is initially making the mini cards available to its new credit card customers.
"Metavante provides clients, such as Clout, with the ability to offer products like mini cards to its customers," said Frank D'Angelo, senior executive vice president, Metavante Payment Solutions Group. "We've developed a successful relationship with Clout through our solid credit card processing capabilities as well as the broad spectrum of products and services we offer clients. We are uniquely positioned to support Clout's business objectives as it grows and changes in response to its market base."
Metavante is a leading provider of electronic funds transfer (EFT) and card solutions including debit, prepaid debit, and credit card account processing, card personalization, ACH processing, ATM driving and monitoring, gateway transaction processing, merchant processing, transportation payment solutions, healthcare identification card fulfillment, and flexible spending account processing. Metavante provides EFT and card services to over 2,200 financial institutions, transportation agencies, and health insurance companies in the United States.
