Best Software's Dawn Westerberg to Moderate Panel on First-Time Fundraising at 2005 DMA Washington Nonprofit Conference
Market Wire, January, 2005
Best Software today announced that Dawn Westerberg, vice president of vertical marketing, Nonprofit Solutions, will moderate a panel on first-time fundraising at the 2005 Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Washington Nonprofit Conference, being held February 3-4 at The Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. Titled, "Maiden Voyage: Fundraising for the First Time in an Established Organization," the panel discussion will educate attendees about the "rookie season" of donor base implementation, donor segmentation, and targeted communication associated with fundraising campaigns, and is scheduled for Thursday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m.
"Some organizations suddenly and unexpectedly find that fundraising is a priority for them," said Westerberg. "Their usual sources of funding have diminished or disappeared, yet their programs have increased and there is still more to do. The DMA Nonprofit session will help nonprofit professionals who are tasked with starting a development office from scratch."
In addition to Westerberg, planned session participants include:
-- Jordan Harburger, Director of Development, Jewish Foundation for Group
Homes
-- Philip Crosby, Executive Director, Legal Information Network for
Cancer
-- Charlotte Sadel, Development Officer, United States Diplomacy Center
