Judith Pitchford Named Jettainer's Director of Business Development
Market Wire, January, 2005
Jettainer GmbH named Judith Pitchford director of business development responsible for sales of the company's outsourced air cargo unit load device (ULD) management solution.
Jettainer has created the first outsourced solution for the airline industry that efficiently manages and tracks ULDs and their contents as they travel around the world, and the first to support the formation and management of a global ULD pool.
Pitchford has worked in the airline business for ten years -- the past two with OAG Worldwide, where she was a senior account manager responsible for sales of schedule data products to all North American global distribution systems and e-portals. She was responsible also for partnerships and launching new products in the mobile telephone space.
Pitchford is the former regional sales manager for United Airlines' business jet division, where she helped to establish the carrier in the fractional private jet business. Prior to that she held various positions at United including brand manager, serving on the Star Alliance product development committee, and senior financial analyst where she was involved with diverse corporate projects. Additionally, Pitchford has several years of consulting experience in the energy management industry.
Jettainer managing director Dr. Mohammed Ali Seiraffi said, "The airline industry has a history of outsourcing key operational activities to outside suppliers, yet outsourcing ULD management has not been one of them. Judy is uniquely qualified to present our global ULD network that balances the flow and inventory of ULDs, one that features perhaps the largest ULD fleet in the world, offering customers economies of scale in purchasing, maintenance and engineering. Also she understands our technology offering and can communicate how it plans, tracks and manages ULD movements and optimizes the entire global network. Judy is the perfect person to help lead the company through a period of tremendous opportunity and growth."
