Port City Web Expands Into Fulfillment, Signs Largest Contract in Company History, and Places Customer in Top Place on New MSN Search - Beating Out Manufacturers
Market Wire, February, 2005
Port City Web, LLC, a full-service company offering integrated strategy, design and implementation services for Web, eCommerce and online marketing initiatives, today announced that it has expanded into fulfillment services and has ranked one of its customers in first place on the new MSN search engine for multiple key words, even beating out the manufacturers of the products.
Lord John's Footwear extended its relationship with Port City Web into fulfillment and customer service. The new contract, valued at over 1/4 million dollars, is the largest single contract in Port City Web's history. "When we needed to expand beyond the physical capacity of our NYC store, we turned to Port City Web and they were ready for the challenge. We have been very happy with their service to date, and have been very satisfied with their fulfillment process through our busiest time of the year," said Mike Kyriannis, President of Lord John's Footwear.
Port City Web created and hosts the eCommerce website for Lord John's Footwear, and markets the site online. "Since taking over we've already made significant improvements to the fulfillment and customer service processes to cut costs and get products to customers faster. We're currently working with vendors and shipping providers on integrating more systems and improving efficiencies to a greater degree," said Erik Crago, President of Port City Web.
Search engine optimization and effective strategies have also landed Lord John's Footwear in the number 1 spot on the new MSN search for 3 of their most popular brands, beating out the manufacturers and other competitors. In the top 2 through 6 rankings, Port City Web has landed 8 other major brands. "Since making the top page on over 10 of our biggest brands, we've seen sales explode exponentially," said Kyriannis.
