Siemens mobile office@vantage is an email push and PIM synchronization solution providing an unprecedented level of security by using Voltage SecureMail for end-to-end security. The solution features the breakthrough Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) technology, specifically designed for the Siemens mobile office@vantage solution running on any Microsoft Windows Mobile(TM) powered device.
IBE is a public key cryptography system that uses common identities (such as an email address) as public keys, eliminating the need for certificates, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) and other costly infrastructure. IBE results in a solution that is easy to implement and easy to manage, without the overhead and cost inherent in traditional security solutions.
Siemens mobile office@vantage uses the Voltage IBE Gateway Server(TM) to provide policy-driven encryption services from the edge of the corporate network. Integration between the Siemens Mobile Access Point Server(TM) (MAP) and the Voltage IBE Gateway Server provides comprehensive policy-based message security (including encryption, decryption and anti-virus and anti-spam scanning) at the gateway and in many cases means that a virtual private network, or VPN, is no longer necessary. This approach significantly reduces costs for enterprise customers and increases manageability of message privacy.
Increasing Revenue per User and Enabling Compliance
"The new Siemens mobile office@vantage secure email capability, powered by Voltage IBE, enables executives to securely exchange end-to-end emails via mobile messaging without fear of disclosing sensitive corporate data," said Sathvik Krishnamurthy, president and CEO of Voltage Security. "For mobile network operators, who provide enterprise customers with a tightly integrated, end-to-end solution, this represents a great way to increase average revenue per user with a value-added security service. With policy-based services, enterprise customers can optimize cost savings for mobile communications by limiting unwanted traffic."
