Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine Announces The Nominees For Its 3rd Annual Online Music Awards

Yahoo! Internet Life magazine, the world's leading consumer Internet publication, has announced the nominees for its 3rd Annual Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards, its publisher Andrew Kramer said today. The Awards, which will be presented on Monday, July 24 at Studio 54 in New York City, pay tribute to well-established artists, up-and-coming bands and acts on the forefront of the internet revolution. David Bowie, who has been chosen as the Online Pioneer of the Year, will be performing live at the awards along with other artists yet to be named. Yahoo! Internet Life hosted last year's awards, which featured performances by Prince, Seal, Public Enemy and Wyclef Jean.
The Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards were created as an annual event to celebrate the most revolutionary artists and online companies on the Net. A testament to those who embrace the full power of new media, the awards symbolize Yahoo! Internet Life magazine's commitment to reporting on the best the Web has to offer.

Nominees for the awards were chosen by the magazine's editorial staff in conjunction with votes compiled from the publication's readers. Winners will be voted on by the 2000Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards Academy, a select group of influential leaders in the music, online and entertainment industries, who also have the option of submitting write-in candidates. The July 24th event will be cybercast live on VH1.com. The awards are being generously sponsored by Microsoft Windows Media, VH1.com, Covad, Musicmatch, Search for Digital Music, Flipdog.com, Garageband, Wear: Aer and My Creativity.
