LiquidLight Inc. Announces Board Of Directors

LiquidLight, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent optical technology that positions the new Optical Service Providers (OSPs) to deliver flexible and scalable IP-based services, has named the members of its Board of Directors. Key appointees include Morgan M. Jones, General Partner with Battery Ventures, and optical industry veteran Fahri Diner, president, CEO and founder of Qtera Corporation, a Battery Ventures-funded company purchased by Nortel Networks earlier this year for approximately US $3.25 billion.

Fahri Diner

President - Qtera, Nortel Networks. Prior to its acquisition by Nortel Networks, Diner was the President, CEO, and Founder of Qtera Corporation, which is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nortel. Diner also pioneered various business development efforts in the optical networking industry, including the introduction of the first Optically Amplified and WDM systems in North America.

Morgan M. Jones

General Partner with Battery Ventures. Mr. Jones joined Battery in 1996 and focuses on communications infrastructure, including optics, IP voice transport and services, broadband access and switching/routing platforms. He serves, or has served, on the board of directors of Akara, Ecovate, LiquidLight, IP Unity, ipVerse, Optium, Qtera and has been an active contributor at Lara Technology. Jones received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1992, for which he was the recipient of a National Science Foundation fellowship. In 1991, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a BS in Engineering Science.

Jim Orlando

Principal with Battery Ventures. Prior to joining Battery, Orlando was Director of Business Development at Nortel Networks and involved in partnerships and acquisitions including Shasta Networks, Qtera, Promatory Networks and Xros.

TC Nie

Founder of LiquidLight, Inc.; President and CEO. A 20-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Nie was most recently was with the Mitsubishi Telecom Network Division, as Senior VP. A leader in the optical networking industry, Nie introduced the industry's first developments of OC-192 SONET. Previously, Nie was employed with Pirelli's Optical Network Business unit and was a pioneer in the worldwide deployments of 32 channel DWDM systems.

Scott Hardin

Co-founder of LiquidLight, Inc.; VP of Marketing and Sales. Prior to LiquidLight, Hardin, who has more than 14 years experience in the communications industry, served as director of business development with the Access Networks division of Nortel Networks. He was involved with the development of Voice over DSL and DSLAM at Nortel. Prior to Nortel Networks, Hardin was a management executive in marketing and development at both Scientific-Atlanta and BNR.
