Market Wire, 20050229
IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that its software products, WebSphere(R) Commerce Suite, WebSphere Host On-Demand and DB2(R) Intelligent Miner, were selected as "analysts' choice" by InfoWorld, a leading technology trade publication. The IBM products were noted as must-have technologies that drive modern enterprises.
WebSphere Commerce Suite, IBM's premier e-commerce software, was selected as InfoWorld's Analyst Choice for e-commerce software. "With solid tools for global business, marketing, merchandising, and personalization add-ons, I have to pick this as one of the five most impressive products I've seen this year," said InfoWorld analyst Jim Borck.
IBM's family of WebSphere Commerce Suite products empowers businesses of all sizes to quickly, easily, and securely conduct electronic commerce on the Web and through wireless devices. IBM's products help companies integrate existing business processes and legacy systems with the Web, as well as grow new Internet-based businesses.
IBM's WebSphere Host On-Demand was selected as an Analyst Choice, proving to be a "cost-effective way to provide Web-based access to legacy applications and data," according to InfoWorld analyst Tim Fielden.
IBM's WebSphere Host On-Demand provides secure access to host applications and data, using a simple, Java(TM)-enabled Web browser. Host on-Demand requires no middle-tier server which simplifies deployment and improves scalability. It installs on a server, simplifying maintenance, distribution and upgrades.
InfoWorld also recognized IBM's DB2 Intelligent Miner as an Analyst Choice. Fielden described it as a tool that "allows business managers to unlock business information that's 'trapped' in e-mail, sales forms, or even competitors' Web pages."
IBM's DB2 Intelligent Miner for Text features text analysis tools that automatically identify the language of a document, create clusters as logical views, categorize documents, summarize documents, and extract relevant textual information, such as proper names and multi-word terms.
