Doll Capital Management (DCM) Adds Robert I. Theis As General Partner

Doll Capital Management (DCM), a venture capital firm investing in early-stage communications and Internet companies, announced today that Robert I. Theis has joined the firm as General Partner. Mr. Theis joins Partners Dixon Doll, David Chao, Peter Moran, Tom Blaisdell and Eric Gonzales on DCM's venture team. DCM is known for funding some of the world's leading technology companies.
Mr. Theis has twenty years of experience with leading technology companies including New Era of Networks (Nasdaq: NEON), Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW) and Silicon Graphics (NYSE: SGI). He joins DCM from NEON where he served for the past four years as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Mr. Theis has been appointed to the NEON Board of Directors as an outside director and also sits on the Board of HealtheTech Corporation.

While at NEON, Mr. Theis held a wide range of senior operational responsibilities including corporate and business development, mergers and acquisitions, channel sales and worldwide marketing where he oversaw exponential revenue growth at the company. He was instrumental in leading the Company through a successful IPO and two follow-on equity offerings. Mr. Theis developed strategic partnerships with numerous industry leading-companies including IBM, Microsoft, BEA Systems, Commerce One, Broadvision, Siebel, PeopleSoft, Hewlett Packard and systems integrators such as Andersen Consulting, Deloitte Consulting, EDS, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Prior to his tenure at NEON, Mr. Theis spent ten years at Sun Microsystems in a variety of senior roles including managing director, worldwide financial services group; director, Asia Pacific sales and marketing; and group manager, CAD/CAM and manufacturing market development. In addition, he held various marketing and sales management roles at Silicon Graphics and McDonnell Douglas Corporation (Boeing).
