The Structure Group Offers Support For New FERC Reporting Requirements
Market Wire, 20050229
The Structure Group, an international software and consulting company providing solutions for the deregulated energy industry, announces the availability of business consulting and technical solutions for the newly released Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Electric Quarterly Report (EQR) requirements.
On April 25, 2002, FERC released a Final Ruling affecting public utilities, power marketers, and any other organization that has sold power into the U.S. grid. The rule is effective immediately, with the first Electric Quarterly Report (EQR) due for submittal July 31, 2002, for second quarter power sales. The reports will include details on both the contractual terms and conditions in their agreements for all market-based power sales, cost-based power sales, and transmission services as well as transaction information for short-term and long-term market-based and cost-based power sales and ancillary services. The ruling also delineates specific data format requirements for this report.
"Energy trading audit and reporting functions have garnered a significant amount of scrutiny recently," Structure principal David Shepheard said. "At Structure, we think that a step toward restoring confidence in the energy sector is for industry participants to comply with the new reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner."
In response to strong customer interest, The Structure Group has developed several offerings aimed at minimizing the impact of the new reporting requirements, including:
-Business consulting and project management services to expedite requirements definition and compliance program delivery efforts
-Data analysis and mapping services to evaluate individual company needs and systems
-Technical integration, data warehousing and report development services to automate the collection, auditing and reporting of required data in a timely manner
-Development of standard extract processes to collect information on ancillary services and real-time energy sales to ISOs, which are captured and verified in Structure's nMarket(TM) products for California, ERCOT, New England, New York, Ontario and PJM
-Development of executive dashboard views giving a concise overview of the reported transaction and contract data
The products and services can be purchased as a bundled, turnkey reporting and analysis solution, or can be implemented one by one depending on customer needs.
