Deltek Hires Director of International Business to Pursue Reseller Channel Strategy

Deltek Systems (www.deltek.com), the leading provider of enterprise software and solutions for project-based businesses, today announced that veteran international business executive Yousef Bayou has been hired to fill the position of Director of International Business. In this position, Mr. Bayou -- who brings to his new role more than 15 years of experience with sales, business development, and management with global technology companies -- will be responsible for developing and supporting a network of value-added resellers for Deltek's professional services automation and enterprise software solutions.
With a roster of international clients including pharmaceutical company Kendle International (Germany) and General Dynamics (Saudi Arabia), Deltek is already an established software vendor in international markets. As is reflected in the hiring of an executive with Mr. Bayou's extensive knowledge of partnering, Deltek's international business strategy is being refocused from targeting end-users to marketing and selling its solutions through value-added reseller channels.
The company will also continue to support its relationship with its existing overseas clients in markets including Europe, the Middle East, India, Australia and New Zealand, the Philippines, and South Africa.

Appointing Mr. Bayou to the Director of International Business position is an important step in furthering the company's newly refocused strategy. Among Mr. Bayou's early goals are creating awareness of Deltek's reseller program, identifying and pursuing potential resellers, and using the channel to market and sell Deltek products and services to international clients. The channel efforts will initially be focused on Europe, with additional markets being targeted at a later date. Deltek is already in discussions with a number of potential reseller partners.
Prior to joining Deltek, Mr. Bayou was the Director of International Business Development with VeriSign(R), where his responsibilities included creating revenue streams through the development of new sales channels in emerging markets worldwide. He was also responsible for the go-to-market strategy, sales and marketing activities, and business operations pertaining to these emerging markets.
Before VeriSign, Mr. Bayou was with Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for channel sales and partner management of national commercial systems integrators. Prior to being promoted to that position, Mr. Bayou was the Business Development Manager for high performance computing with Sun Microsystems' Business Systems Division.
Mr. Bayou was a founding member of the Cray Research channels team, where he was responsible for the development and management of US channels. In addition, he has held positions in management, sales and marketing for companies in industries such as software, public sector and systems integration.
Mr. Bayou earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He currently lives in Annandale, Virginia with his wife, Jean, and their three children.
