"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve(r)" Television Special Renewed by ABC with Five-Year Commitment

dick clark productions, inc. (Nasdaq: DCPI), has received a commitment from ABC renewing its "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" annual television special. The five-year commitment extends through January 1, 2005.

In addition, the time slot for the December 31, 2000 special has been expanded to three-and-one-half hours of programming. The show will begin during prime time and then continue into the late-night hours.

"We are very excited by the expansion of our New Year's special," said Dick Clark, executive producer of "New Year's Rockin' Eve." "It gives us the opportunity to feature many more performers and guests."

New Year's Eve 2000 marked the 28th consecutive year that Clark hosted the "Countdown to Midnight" from Times Square in New York City. Clark's special has traditionally outrated all other network shows during its time period. The millennial appearance by Clark achieved the highest ratings ever for the "Countdown to Midnight."
