Northwest Names Michael Becker Vice President - International

Northwest Airlines announced today that it has promoted Michael Becker, 37, to vice president - international reporting to Phil Haan, executive vice president - international, sales & information services. He assumes his duties immediately.
Becker will be responsible for all financial and administrative functions for the Pacific and Atlantic divisions including finance, accounting, information services, human resources, government affairs and facilities. In addition, he will have responsibility for inflight and maintenance operations as well as Northwest's service to Mexico.
He currently holds the position of managing director - human resources and is responsible for international HR/labor relations as well as Northwest's corporate HR functions including compensation, benefits, pensions, training, executive recruiting, diversity and corporate services.

Prior to joining NWA, Becker held various positions at The Dow Chemical Company. He holds a BS in Business Administration from St. John's University and an MA in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota.
