Drexel University Launches Nation's First Online Techno-MBA Degree to Assist Managers in High-tech Business Enterprises

Drexel University's Bennett S. LeBow College of Business will offer the nation's first techno-MBA degree delivered entirely online.

Why an online techno-MBA?

The rapid development of business practices such as e-commerce requires managers to have stronger technological skills.

An online techno-MBA program allows students from around the world to share their ideas and experiences, which is essential in our global business environment.

As business practices become more technological, the techno-MBA could replace the more traditional MBA for managers hoping to compete in high-tech enterprises.

The new degree, MBA Online: Drexel's Technology Management Program, is being announced on Drexel's campus tomorrow, Thursday, February 10, by Dr. Pamela S. Lewis, Dean of Drexel's LeBow College of Business, and Charles P. Schneider, chief operating officer of eCollege.com.

Drexel developed it's techno-MBA in partnership with eCollege.com, which is providing the University with a $235,000 grant, as well as the software shell, servers, and technology development for the delivery of the 13 online courses. All course content will be developed and taught by the faculty in Drexel's LeBow College of Business.

In 1983-84, Drexel became the first university to mandate that all entering students have personal access to a microcomputer. Last yearYahoo! Internet Life Magazine ranked Drexel as Philadelphia's "most-wired campus" and 18th in the United States.
