Multi-Platinum Rockers Simple Plan Announce 'Noise To the World' Tour With Good Charlotte
Market Wire, March, 2005
Multi-platinum rockers Simple Plan are joining pals Good Charlotte on the long-awaited Noise To the World tour, sponsored by MTV, which kicks off May 2nd in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The like-minded punk purveyors will hit 35 markets in the U.S., and are expected to bring their brash, pop/punk sound directly to fans that have patiently waited for the bands to share a bill. Plans for a long-overdue Simple Plan/Good Charlotte tour were hatched in February when both bands performed at the MTV Asia Aid event in Thailand, which raised money to benefit Tsunami victims and families. Capitol recording artist Relient K will open up on the Noise To the World dates.
Simple Plan is thrilled to return to the United States. The band is ready to perform their arena-ready, new material in front of die-hard, loyal fans. Since the beginning of the year, the band has crisscrossed the globe, touring in exotic locales such as Japan, Australia, Europe, Scandinavia and Latin America. "We can't wait to get back to the U.S. and rock on tour with our friends Good Charlotte," remarked Simple Plan drummer Chuck Comeau. "We've been overseas for months and this is our first real North American tour in a long time. We have so many amazing fans all over the country and it's going to be great to have the chance to play our new songs for them. If you're a SP or GC fan, get your ass down to the show and we promise you'll have the time of your life."
Simple Plan will be touring in support of their recently released sophomore album "Still Not Getting Any." The disc, which has sold over 1 million albums since release, features the Top 10 pop track "Welcome To My Life" and the hit single "Shut Up," which went to #1 on MTV's daily countdown TRL. The band is prepping their third single, "Untitled," which leaked onto radio due to demand. Simple Plan continues to receive accolades for their new release including nominations for three Juno Awards including Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and Group of the Year. In addition, Simple Plan received an MTV TRL Award nomination for "Best Band That Actually Plays Instruments" and was nominated in The Viewers Choice Award category at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.
