GoVideo Introduces D2740 Wireless Media Receiver + DVD Player
Market Wire, March, 2005
GoVideo today announced the introduction of the new D2740 Wireless Media Receiver DVD Player, capable of delivering all the music, movies, and pictures stored on the PC to the TV or home theater system for enjoyment throughout the home. The D2740 is also capable of streaming the critically acclaimed Rhapsody(TM) music service from RealNetworks®, Inc., enabling consumers to enjoy more than 1 million songs at the touch of a button.
The new D2740 features onboard wireless 802.11g networking and wired Ethernet for simplified one touch connection to the home network. Owners of the D2740 can enjoy their stored audio and video content or personal Rhapsody library on the TV screen in the comfort of their living room, and enjoy their favorite music on any stereo or home theater system. D2740 owners can effortlessly browse their personal Rhapsody library by artist, album, and song title, choosing from a growing library of more than 80,000 albums, and can also quickly review the custom radio stations and playlists they have created using Rhapsody.
GoVideo has optimized its StreamLink(TM) Technology for UPnP-certified music services like Rhapsody and others. These advanced capabilities, developed in partnership with Digital 5, Inc., offer a superior level of convenience at an affordable price.
"Most people with PCs have accumulated a large amount of digital pictures, either on their own or through e-mails from friends and family. Combine that with the online music buying trend and delivery of video over the internet and people have PCs that are full of entertainment," said Jerry Barbera, GoVideo's senior vice president of sales and channel marketing. "This Wireless Media Receiver DVD Player changes the way people listen to and access music and view movies and pictures in the home, breaking new ground in overall convenience. This brings the PC media into the entertainment area of the house."
The new D2740 is ready-to-use right out of the box, with music from up-and-coming independent artists and sample JPEG files featured on the included installation CD.
